50 GOFAMINT Prayer Points Against the Spirit of Judging:
Exhortation:
Ever catch yourself sizing someone up, maybe even feeling a little superior about their choices? It’s a sneaky trap we can all fall into. But here’s the thing: we’re all walking our own paths, facing battles others might not even see. Let’s choose to extend grace and understanding instead of jumping to conclusions. Remember, the same measure we use to judge others might just be used on us one day. Let’s aim to see each other through eyes of love and compassion, just like Jesus sees us.
Confession:
Heavenly Father, we come before you acknowledging times we’ve allowed the spirit of judgment to take root in our hearts. We’ve looked at others with critical eyes, formed opinions without knowing the full story, and sometimes even spoken words that have wounded. Forgive us for these moments, Lord. Cleanse our hearts from any trace of pride or self-righteousness that fuels this judgmental spirit. Help us to see others as you see them – precious souls in need of your love and grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
Scripture Reading:
Matthew 7:1-5 (NKJV): “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.1 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the2 speck from your brother’s eye.”
Praise and Worship:
(Imagine a moment of heartfelt praise, perhaps singing a song like “Amazing Grace” or “I Stand Amazed”)
Lord, we lift our voices to you in praise! You are the God of mercy, the Father of compassion. Your love knows no bounds, and your grace is freely given. We thank you for your patience with us, for your constant forgiveness, and for the example of your Son, Jesus, who showed us how to love without judgment. We worship you, Lord, for your holiness and your unfailing love.
