Exhortation:

Beloved in Christ, the Word of God teaches us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Generosity is not merely about material possessions; it encompasses our time, talents, and love. A spirit of stinginess and lack hinders the flow of God’s blessings in our lives and prevents us from being a blessing to others. Today, we confront this ungodly spirit and declare our commitment to a life of open-handedness and cheerful giving. Let us examine our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to break every chain of selfishness.

Confession:

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging that we have, at times, harbored a spirit of lack and stinginess. We have held back when we should have given, and we have prioritized our own desires over the needs of others. We confess the times we have been unwilling to share our resources, our time, and our talents. Forgive us, Lord, for allowing the spirit of lack to take root in our hearts. We repent of every act of selfishness and every thought that has hindered generosity within us. We ask for Your grace to cultivate a heart that is open, willing, and joyful in giving. Cleanse us from the love of money and the fear of scarcity. We desire to reflect Your generous nature in all that we do.
