Exhortation:

Beloved, the Word of God is our spiritual food, our guide, and our weapon. It is the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). Heavenly Father, we come before you acknowledging our shortcomings. We confess that we have often neglected the diligent reading of your Holy Word. We have allowed the cares of this world, the distractions of technology, and the laziness of our flesh to keep us from the life-giving pages of Scripture. We have missed opportunities to know you better, to receive your guidance, and to be strengthened by your promises. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have chosen other things over your Word. We repent of this neglect and ask for your grace to cultivate a hunger and thirst for your truth.
